Island Discovery creates relaxed, private boat tours for small groups who want to experience the Dalmatian islands at their own pace, with local knowledge, thoughtful touches and the freedom to enjoy the day their way.
MEET MARIA, OWNER OF ISLAND DISCOVERY
Originally from the UK, Maria spent many years travelling before eventually making Dalmatia her home. Having first experienced Croatia as a visitor herself, she understands how precious holiday time is and how important it is to choose experiences that genuinely make a holiday memorable.
That perspective became the foundation for Island Discovery. Maria believes the best days on the Adriatic aren't about rushing between famous places just to tick them off a list. They're about finding a beautiful bay, staying a little longer because the swimming is too good to leave, enjoying lunch by the water and having the freedom to simply enjoy being at sea.
Island Discovery has deliberately stayed small and personal. Maria handles enquiries herself, taking time to understand what guests really want from their day. She would rather recommend the right experience than simply sell a tour and, if something isn't suitable, she will always say so.
For Maria, it's about giving guests the time and freedom to experience this beautiful part of Croatia properly and hopefully leave with a little understanding of why she chose to call Dalmatia home.

Our local skipper, Paško, is from Split and knows the Adriatic and the islands we visit exceptionally well. He studies at the University of Split, Faculty of Maritime Studies, and in 2026 received the Rector’s Award for Special Achievement, recognising his exceptional academic, professional and community engagement. Calm, knowledgeable and easy-going, Paško combines professional maritime expertise with the kind of local knowledge that comes from spending years on these waters.
